Internet outages will happen from time to time due to power loss issues, damage to the tower, or scheduled maintenance. If you have good cell coverage, you can turn your phone into a hotspot that will allow your devices to still connect to the internet until regular service is restored. The 3 most common devices are listed below:
Apple iPhone
1. Begin by tapping Settings, then Personal Hotspot.
2. Next tap Allow Others to Join, then tap WiFi Password to create the password for Hotspot access.
3. You can now connect your devices to your phone’s internet as you connect them to your WiFi router.
Samsung Galaxy
1. Begin by tapping Settings, then Connections.
2. Next tap Mobile Hotspot and Tethering.
3. Then tap Mobile Hotspot to turn it on and Configure to create the password for Hotspot access.
4. You can now connect your devices to your phone’s internet as you connect them to your WiFi router.
Google Pixel
1. Begin by tapping Settings, then Network and Internet, then Hotspot and Tethering.
2. Next tap WiFi Hotspot, then tap the switch to turn it on.
3. Now that the Hotspot is on, you can tap on Hotspot Password to create the password for Hotspot access.
4. You can now connect your devices to your phone’s internet as you connect them to your WiFi router.
